Some companies call it a tune-up and spend ten minutes hosing off the unit. We check, test, and record every part that affects how your AC cools and what it costs to run.
Electrical and safety: tighten all connections, test capacitors against manufacturer specs, inspect contactors for voltage drop, verify incoming line voltage, inspect the disconnect, and check wiring for damage or overheating.
Refrigerant and cooling: check pressures and verify proper charge, measure compressor and fan motor amperage against nameplate ratings, confirm airflow and temperature differential, and inspect suction line insulation.
Coils, blower, and filtration: wash the outdoor condenser coil, inspect the evaporator coil when accessible, check the blower motor and wheel, and inspect the filter.
Drainage and water safety: inspect and test the condensate drain line, test the float switch and safety devices, and check for overflow pans on horizontal attic units.
Controls and data: check thermostat operation, then record pressures, temperature split, capacitor readings, and amperage so we can compare them next year and catch a fading part before it fails.
